Poetry Night offers a platform where experienced and budding poets showcase their talent. Registration to the Show will start from 17:00 to 18:45 on 9 August. Entrance to the show is only N$40, while participants and students pay N$30.

Mberi says there is no limitation to themes and styles of poetry that will be staged on the evening. He encourages everyone to create and go share work that reflects their own style and truth.

“The exciting element of the show is that participants enter on the day of the event and so the content cannot be predicted which allows for a mixed bag of unique experiences for the audience members,” Mberi adds.

The event attracts an average of 15 poets, per show. The show is for and by the People thus, the nature of the show is entirely up to who steps through the doors of The Loft.

“I moderate the process as the host and I will share a poem here and there, too. In this show, we are fortunate to have Meta sharing some poetry before his show at 9pm in the Boiler Room which will be right after Poetry Open Mic,” Mberi says.

The sessions are on every two weeks. Follow Open Mic Poetry Night on Instagram and Twitter.
